Additionally, the company revamped its Economy class, which involved a total investment of $120 million
LAN completed the implementation of its new Premium Business and renewed Economy Class in all long-haul flights the company operates to destinations in North America -United States , Canada and Mexico- Caribbean, Europe, South Pacific, New Zealand and Australia.
LAN's Premium Business is equipped with full -flatsleeper- style seats that recline 180°, for comfortable sleeping in a fully horizontal position, which only a select group of airlines in the world offer its passengers. Seat panels provide increased privacy and comfort that allow passengers to enjoy a sense of personal space, paired with amenities such as down comforters, soft pillows and newly upholstered chairs - all of these features are designed to ensure a relaxing in-flight experience. The concept is based on what business travelers value most on long-haul flights: the ability to rest.
In addition, passengers receive superior service on board, with menus based on a selection of seasonal products characteristic of the South America region prepared by a distinguished panel of international chefs. The in-flight menu is paired with a wine list featuring some of the finest selections from around the world. A highly trained flight crew can help passengers review the wine list while delivering unparalleled service that ensures passengers' utmost comfort.
Additionally, Ecomony class was completely refurnished to provide a more enjoyable flight experience including increased reclining seats and larger individual high resolution and wide-screen video monitors with on-demand entertainment.
Throughout the aircraft, in both cabins, LAN offers a state-of-the-art entertainment system that only a select group of airlines in the world provide their passengers. The robust in-flight entertainment program on individual screens features 44 movies, 95 TV programs, 550 music CDs and 14 video games -all on demand. Two of these games (Chess and Battleship) have a multiplayer feature, so several passengers can play at the same time. A high-tech control panel allows passengers to make their entertainment selection from their seat. Passengers can fast-forward, rewind or pause their selections as well. It also provides connection to load the computer, especially useful for business trips.
"Long trips seem shorter with LAN's new entertainment on board. Our passengers can choose from a wide variety of programs, music, games and content to enjoy on the flight", said Armando Valdivieso, LAN's CEO Passenger.
This initiative represents an investment of US$120 million in service enhancements. "We want to offer the best travel experience, incorporating the latest trends in the airline industry to always provide a quality product worldwide. It is part of our commitment to bet on the future and continue to improve every day", says Armando Valdivieso, LAN's CEO Passenger.
The new Premium Business and redesigned Economy Class are also offered on some flights within South America as the company's long-haul fleet, comprised of25 Boeing 767-300 and 5 Airbus A-340, also operates some connecting routes within the region.
